The public sector lender, Punjab national Bank
has announced that it will hire almost 8000 candidates annually for the
next few years. The hiring will be carried out to fill vacancies for
its 500 new bank branches that it plans to open in the current fiscal
year.
On the matter, the Executive Director of PNB, Mr. S. R.
Bansal said, "We will be recruiting 6,000-8,000 personnel each year for
the next few years." He further added, "As of now, we have over 5,800
branches across the country. In the current year, we plan to open
another 500 branches. The new branches would include about 22 in Tamil
Nadu and 10 in Tiruchirapalli circle alone."

New Initiative From PNB
Its other
initiative, PNB Pragati, aims at providing 24 hour services to
customers. At present, the venture is in its initial stages post its
introduction
in August this year. Under the venture, the bank plans to
convert its 500 branches into PNB Pragati in the metro and urban regions
of the country, before the end of the current fiscal.
if PNB does so, it will be highly appreciated from among the candidates who are still waiting and expecting calls from IBPS PO 2.
